Frequently asked questions Who will I ask if I need help?A. If you need help there is plenty available. You can ask your trainer questions by email, phone or chat direct to your trainer. If you need technical help you can ask your trainer who will follow through with you to make sure any problems are resolved.
How much time do I have to complete the course? A. Each course has a "suggested timeframe" to guide you. This is based on about 4-6 hours per week at 4 weeks per unit - up to 52 weeks. At Diploma level and above we allow longer. For example, the Certificate IV in Aged Care has 10 units, so the allocated timeframe is 40 weeks. The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has 14 units, so we allocate 52 weeks. Timeframes also depend on the employer or whether a course is a traineeship or is funded. You you can finish and receive your qualification as soon as you have sent in your assignment and they have been assessed. You can finish earlier than the nominated timeframe.
What happens if I need more time? A. If you require an extension you can apply by email giving your reasons (for example, illness, moving, circumstances beyond your control, personal issues, workplace demands and so on). This must be submitted prior to the completion date specified in your log-in email. The length of time granted will depend on the length of the original course and on the commitment you have shown so far in your study. Note: Some course timeframes cannot be extended. Circumstances can include the policies of a workplace, if you have a learning contract with an employer, certain study group arrangements, if your course is funded, and there are may be other reasons that preclude us from extending the timeframe.
How soon can I start? A. If you are studying online, you can start your course within 48 hours of your enrolment. You receive your login details, and the email and phone contact of your trainer and then you begin your study. If you are attending face to face training, this will of course, depend on the scheduled timeframes. Funded courses may take longer to get you going.
How long does it take to mark my work? A. The turnaround time for marking assignments is five days, although it may take up to 10 days depending on the nature of your assignment and our workload during certain periods of the year. Questions about the courses are prioritised so if you need help feedback is often immediate, or you can call your trainer on the phone or use the chat room.
How will I send in my assignments? A. Assignments are either submitted online, or by email attachment. If you are studying the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or other units that require you to show us your presentation skills, these can be submitted by audio and video.
Are there any exams? A. If you are studying in Australia, there are no exams. If you are an overseas resident your assignments may require an examination via the virtual classroom or face to face.

If you are studying a full certificate course, you will receive a certificate qualification. If you study a short course you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units you complete. The qualification can only be issued by a Registered Training Organisation who undergoes rigorous quality control auditing and assessment under the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF).
