Distance Learning Australia and US

In partnership with Distance Learning Australia (DLA), National College offers a selection of our courses via distance education. This option is ideal for those with time or location issues that may restrict them from attending a course that requires classroom attendance.

On successful completion of a course (or unit), you will receive the same qualification as a classroom-based course, which is the same offered in TAFE Institutes.

When you enrol in one of the DLA courses, you will receive a user name and password to enter your online course as soon as your enrolment is processed. During your study contact is by phone and email, with unlimited support available from your trainer. The estimated time frame for courses is based on four weeks per unit at 4-6 hours per week, however you can complete as quickly as you wish and in most cases an extension can be arranged by asking for more time before the finish date given to you.

Participants may have the opportunity to attend a virtual classroom during their study. This will apply to those who enrol in full certificate courses, and anyone who enrols in TAAASS404A, the validation unit where they will carry out a validation. DLA anticipates organising virtual classes so that participants can attend at least once during their course. Participation will be optional and a person can still achieve their goals if technologies prevent them from participating in activities requiring higher levels of technology (e.g. broadband and internet requirements).
